That curiosity led me to several decades in the automotive trenches—first as a mechanic fixing everything from rusted cruisers to high-end performance and racing vehicles, then as an inspector navigating the chaos of Queensland’s used vehicle market. I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the hidden rust under the shiny paint.
But the deeper I got into this industry, the more I realized something was off. Inspections—the gatekeepers of trust for buyers—were stuck in the past. Slow. Mechanical. Check-the-box boring. I watched customers walk away confused by vague reports, lose deals waiting for appointments, or get blindsided by faults no one bothered to predict.
